Ride a stage of the Tour of Britain and raise money for a good cause

15 06 2009

In September the Tour of Britain takes place across the countryside.   Although not taking in Audlem (perhaps next year?) the route does have a stage that starts and finishes in Stoke.

And just like the larger contintental Sportives like the Etape Du Tour for the Tour de France and Gran Fondo for the Giro d’Italia there is opportunity to ride the stage.

The organisers of the Tour of Britain have linked up with the The Prostate Cancer Charity to host a sportive from Stoke.  There are 3 ride options 20km family route

70km and a 145k which is the complete stage.

145 km

Entry fees vary depending on distance. More details can be found on the following link

It would be great for the Club to participate in the event and get some riders out on each of the distances and also raise money for Charity.

Philip has entered the 145km route Mark Wilding the 70km.

Anyone else interested please register via the site above select your distance  and then search for Audlem Cycling Club as the team entry for all our entries regardless of distance.

Should be fun…….

Any questions then please post on the site….
