Pete Read Coaching Day Success

7 11 2010

Another major success for Audlem Cycling Club!!
30 riders including members from Crewe Clarion and Chester Road Club gathered at Reaseheath College for a training session lead by Pete Read, Senior Coach with the Association Of British Cycle Coches.
Pete spent time in the morning going through his 14 points that will help us utilise training time and methods to greatest effect during the winter months – whether this be on the road, on the turbo or most effectively on both
Delegates then spent the afternoon on the turbo trainers experiencing the “feel” and “effort levels” through a diverse range of training methods and activities. Pete spending time with each rider to discuss bike set up and rider positioning to achieve maximum effect from time spent in the saddle.
Delegates also enjoyed an excellent buffet lunch prepared by the Chairman, the Secretary and the Treasurer and their wives – a special thank you to Jon and Jo Day, Christine Middleton and Nikki Ball.
A poll showed that all present felt that to maintain motivation organised club turbo sessions would be of great benefit over the winter and these are to be arranged – watch out for more news.
Thanks to all those who attended – I know I speak for all of them when I say this was a session that exceeded the expectations anyone could have had at 10 o’clock when the day began.
We hope to see Pete return in the New Year to take us through an early season training day
