Christmas Club Run Success

13 12 2010

Despite a foggy and frosty start to the day 2 rides left the village en route to Tern Hill Hall where a warming log fire, a noggin or two and a  christmas meal awaited.     Mike Wilson lead a group of 12 out on a long loop that took in Whitchurch, Wem, Shawbury and back towards Tern Hill.    At 10-15am  Danny Yates’ Family Ride rolled out with an array of Santas to keep thingss under control.    The route headed to Norton in Hales and on to Adderley via some slightly icy patches – Andy Mason’s impression of Torvill and Dean’s Bolero was worthy of a 6 point score and he still managed to stay on his bike!!    A pit stop at Jon Day’s house warmed the riders with mulled wine, mince pies and coffee.   Main roads now to Market Drayton and then on to our destination.   The excellent meal was enjoyed by 62 members, family and friends.

Prizes were awarded to Olivia Ball for best dressed Santa and to Cameron Yates for best dressed helmet – flashing lights and all!

Huge thank yous must go to our ride leaders and to Jon Day who organised the festivities.
