“Tempo Rides” – up and running!

The 2011 training season started in earnest on Sunday with 6 riders starting – and completing – the club’s first  “Tempo” ride. The route started from the Buttermarket in Audlem at 09.15am, visiting  Whitchurch, Malpas, Farndon,  the outskirts of Chester and returning via Beeston  Castle and Nantwich.

The Tempo ride was structured with all riders being encouraged to
‘pedal’ using a high cadence and low gear ratios. The 60 mile route
returned an average speed of 17.9 mph with no cafe stops.

There are 4 more planned ‘Tempo’ rides – January 9th, 16th, 23rd &

Next ride will be Sunday 9th January departing the Buttermarket in
Audlem at 09.15am.
