LVRC National Road Race Championship Success

12 06 2011

In weather more suited to November than the middle of June the LVRC National Championship races took place on the Bridgemere based circuit today.   Heavy rain and cold winds kept the temperature close to 8 degrees(!!) but the three groups, covering three different age categories, completed the 50 and 60 mile events without incident.   Racing was keenly contested in all categories with sprint finishes deciding the winners in all classes.       The very cold conditions meant that some riders “packed” early suffering with extreme fatigue and limbs that would not work properly!     Former Milk Race winner Les West presented prizes, medals and Champions Jerseys after the event at the race HQ in the Village Hall.      LVRC Chairman Don Parry commented on the professional way the event was promoted by the club and thanked all concerned in organising and staging the race.      Club  Chairman, Tim Ball, thanked  race organiser Mike Wilson and members and their families for the help they provided – in whatever way – on the day.            Race reports, results, photos and further LVRC details can be found at

Another very successful day for the club and we look forward to promoting more events in the future
