AUDLEM CC 2 DAY – “A great success”

4 09 2016

The inaugural Audlem “2 Day” is done – and the riders response afterwards was “bring on the next one !”

Despite a promised decent day Sunday dawned damp and grey – fortunately it stayed dry and brightened up as the races Audlem CC progressed.  One thing we hadn’t forecast was a set of traffic lights appearing on the circuit between our ‘pre-race sweep’ and the first group reaching the Boars Head at Walgherton.     We were told by the contractors it was emergency essential work and therefore had to be done.

We were torn on how to proceed with safety being the priority for all road users.   We thank the efforts and understanding of the riders, lead car drivers and the Bike Marshals that enabled both races to complete – the longer race had a clear run on the final lap following the completion of the repairs

Congratulations go to all the prize winners and the full result sheets for each event can be seen by following the links

Overall results JSMABC        Overall results DEFG

We also send best wishes a sent for a full and speedy recovery to Paul Brownbill and John Ginley who were involved in a collision during Saturday’s road race.

Thanks are extended to EVERYONE that played a part in making the event so successful :- riders, marshals, lead car drivers, Bike Marshals, TT pusher off, TT time keepers, catering, finish line stewards, video camera operators,  spectators, riders’ support, Audlem Scouts and Guides and anyone else that we have forgotten to mention

This event concludes another full season of road race promotions by the club – we are already planning our calendar for 2017 so watch this space
