Remembrance Sunday – 12th November

7 11 2017

Please note the cafe destination for the Remembrance Sunday ride has been changed to Meadow Lea Farm, Mickle Trafford near Chester.  This will allow us to arrive in Guilden Sutton by 10.55am where those who wish can join the locals in a two minute silence to remember the members of the armed forces who have died in the line of duty.   Following the ceremony we can ride on to the cafe

The first two-minute silence in Britain was held on 11 November 1919, when King George V asked the public to observe a silence at 11am –  one year after the end of World War One. He made the request so “the thoughts of everyone may be concentrated on reverent remembrance of the glorious dead”.
